Dr. Limor Lavie is a senior lecturer and the head of audiology studies at the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the University of Haifa. She is also a clinical audiologist who heads a large audiology clinic. Her expertise and clinical practice in geriatric audiology and in hearing rehabilitation guide her research interest, and as an active audiologist she studies issues that arise from the clinical field. The clinical implications of her published studies have already yield insights with impacts on hearing aid fitting in adults, and her research on hearing aid induced auditory plasticity in older adults has won the Editor’s Award from the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research. She studies speech perception, auditory plasticity and the effects of long-term hearing aid use in older adults, and school-age hearing screening.

Dr. Lavie is a member of the Development Group for the Package of Interventions for Rehabilitation for Hearing Impairment‏‏ of the World Health Organization (WHO). She is a board member of the Israeli Speech Language and Hearing Association and of the Israeli Society of Auditory Research, and a member of IALP audiology committee.
