Leah R. Paltiel-Gedalyovich , PhD is a lecturer in the Department of Communication Disorders in Achva Academic College, Israel and a practicing speech-language pathologist with close to forty years clinical experience with diverse populations. She trained as a SLP at Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences (Melbourne, Australia) and subsequently obtained an MA in Linguistics from Bar-Ilan University (Ramat Gan, Israel) and her PhD in Foreign Literatures and Linguistics from Ben Gurion University of the Negev (Beer-Sheva, Israel). She has adapted Jane Passy’s Cued Articulation to Hebrew. Her research interests include clinical applications of theoretical linguistics, mainly phonetics and phonology, semantics and pragmatics. Her current projects, together with colleagues, include the study of the development of Hebrew intelligibility and Hebrew-speaking infants’ reactions to infant directed speech.
