Daphne Ari-Even Roth, PhD, is chair of the Department of Communication Disorders at Steyer School of Health Professions, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. She earned her BA, MA and PhD degrees at the department of Communication Disorders, Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. Her two main research areas focus on: (1) the normal development and dysfunction of the auditory system in neonates and young children; (2) learning and functional plasticity in the auditory system using behavioral and electrophysiological measures with special emphasis on the neural encoding of speech sounds. Dr. Ari-Even Roth is also a senior clinician at the Hearing, Speech and Language Center at Sheba Medical Center and in charge of the bone-anchored hearing aids team and coordinates for the last 25 years the pioneering universal newborn hearing screening program in Israel. She also consults regularly the Israeli Ministry of Health regarding newborn hearing screening.
